Note

Underlined letters:
You can use 2 or 3 ways for the Hiragana/Katakana conversion of some sounds. However, the underlined way is correct as Romaji writing
(The Hepburn system of Romanization). Romaji writing is used for the name of the place on the map or on the road. So, the correct Romaji recognition is also important.

Background color is white:
These sound are shown by only Katakana in general, since these letters are not in the Japanese syllabic table. Some of them are rarely used or never used. It is better to ignore them in the early stage of your learning. Please remind that you will see the special expression. That is an arbitrary choice of the writer, seeking originality.
ex. びぃーん、びぃよーん in Manga.

These letters are mainly used in order to transcribe Gairaigo (a word of foreign origin, loan word) as close as possible. For example, people use both of ボーカル(vocal) and ヴォーカル(vocal). The orthographical variants can be seen when they are romanized since there is not "v"sound in Japanese. It is common to substitute "b" for "v".

Do you like Karaoke? There are many duet songs. Not frequently, many native Japanese speaker think for a moment how to type the word, "duet" into Katakana, since almost all the Japanese use the Romaji typing on the keyboad.

Here are the exaples of the rare usage of this type of Katakana.
ディズニーランド (Disneyland)、デュエット (duet)、ジェスチャー (gesture)、チェス (chess) 、ファイト (fight)、フィードバック (feed back)、フェンス (fence)、
フォード (Ford)、ウィキペディア ( Wikipedia)、ウォン(Won, Korean currency)、バイオリン・ヴァイオリン (violin)、ビーナス・ヴィーナス (Venus), etc.

There are some other examples in the onomatopoeia (オノマトペ) as bellow.
キィーキィー or ギィーギィー the sound of the broken door
ヒーン or ヒィーン a cry of horse

Capital letter:
It is just used because this table shows the way of  keybord typing. Most keyboads show only capital letters. After you install Japanese fonts in your computer, you can start Romaji typing.

Romanization:
The place name, Roma is "Rooma", and a panphlet is "panfuretto" in Romaji. This makes you feel irritable. Please be patient and  please try a quiz.
The advantage of Romaji writing is that you can promounce the word just as same as Japanese pronumciation without knowledge about Japanese characters.
